China Power Investment, one of the country's largest power
producers, has agreed to spend CNY 6bn (USD 858m) developing wind
farms at Xuwen, Guangdong Province.
The wind farms will be built along the Guangdong coast at Jinhe,
Xiayang, Qianshan, Qujie, and He'an, stretching more than 80km,
according to local government sources.
According to an official from CPI, the CNY 6bn (USD 858m) investment
will be in place in five years, and could be used to install at
least 600MW wind capacity.
The Xuwen wind base currently is CPI's largest wind project. The
company hopes to start works on it this year.
